I don't do that anymore, driving for the Red Cross and crossing the bridge just isn't the same... and I have tried to talk to the blood, but it is just not the same... I occasionally catch an episode, and yes, they're still funny, but there's just something about watching cartoons (which is what they are) that just doesn't "catch" for me any more. Guess I'm getting old. What does upset me, and you touched on it a bit, is that either TV is going for more money, or the American people have become so flighty that they can't seem to handle a full TV season any more. I remember for the first, I dunno, 35 years of my life, a TV season was 9 months on, 3 months off during the summer so kids could go out and play. Now it seems that TV has gone to a 3 and 3 on/off schedule year round. In some cases, much, much worse (Chuck for example ended in June/July and won't be back until January). I understand that shooting 12 less episodes per year is cheaper and it gives the networks a chance to try something new more often, but what we see is that "something new" coming at the expense of shows that might take a couple of full seasons to kick in, like.. hmm. Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse, and even Eastwick, not to mention dozens of other great shows which would have never gotten a chance under a 3 and 3 season. It has great episodes like "The Dundees," and "Office Olympics" which are both classic Michael AND Jim pranks.
