New iPhone

Now, I typically don’t post much about new technology, seeing that this is a blog about TV.  But I could hardly contain myself when I saw this article on Engadget.  And since I’m already out of the closet, I might as well come clean: I own an iPhone.  I bought it the day after it came out.  I got the rebate from Apple when they decided the cost was too high.  I am a devoted Apple products owner.  And without any hesitation, I will be buying the new iPhone version when it comes out (hopefully in June).

It’s always had awesome features.  For starters, the text messages look like chat bubbles.  And the cous de gras is the VISUAL VOICEMAIL.  I like being able to decide what to listen to, and not have to listen to everything if I don’t want to.

Anyway, the newer version is rumored to be a different size, have a few different color options, AND different front page themes.  Hence the article above that mentions a Windows Vista theme.

I’ll keep you updated, and let you know how it works, and how much I’m going to love it.

Yeh, I can’t wait for 3G on the next iPhone. Have you seen the speed comparisons? AT&T’s 3G service beat out all competitors in terms of speed.

I want an iPhone pretty badly. LOVE Apple products. Just not enough to pay the premium for AT&T service. Maybe later this year when they’re not strapped to AT&T’s ankles.

Well, here’s my thing: I had AT&T BEFORE the iPhone craze, so it wasn’t a difficult decision to make. However, if I didn’t have AT&T, I probably wouldn’t have the iPhone.

And to be perfectly honest, I won’t buy the new version when it comes out. I’m going to take the “wait and see” attitude and play around with them a bit before I go and toss my old one.

But, I still love the iPhone.

Went by the local Apple store today to just take a sincere look at the iPhone. Ended up spending about an hour and a half, and I’ve determined that if i can get a 16mb model for $299, it’ll be enough to justify the switch to me.

I’ve got T-mobile nationwide with 1500 minutes for $39.99, but to add SMS and Internet is another $25, meaning that to get a comparable AT&T program (with rollover) is only a $10 premium. Considering AT&T’s better coverage, sounds like a go.

Now to just wait for the 3G release on 7/11
