24 hours of “A Christmas Story”

Yes.  It was that time of year.  It occurred to me yesterday, while watching it in between the gift giving and present opening, that I have never seen that movie from beginning to end in one sitting.  But is that the point?

I’ve seen the entire movie.  Just never at the same time.  Perhaps that is why they play it for 24 straight hours.  I’m not sure.  It’s still funny.  Personally, I think watching it in pieces may be the best way to watch it.  Now before the stoning starts, just understand that I wasn’t alive when this movie came out for the first time.  I caught it the 30th time around, in repeats.

Anyhoo… Christmas with the family was nice.  Of course, there was the typical fighting and bickering.  But I came out of it with some really nice stuff.  To include but not limited to The Sopranos Season 6, part 1 on blu ray, and the Christmas favorite and incredible BBC special Planet Earth on blu ray.  I’m telling you, if you haven’t jumped on the blu ray bandwagon, you’re definitely missing out.  It’s all about the visual effects and digital sound.  Pure greatness.

I hope everyone had a great holiday.  And hopefully, I will get some stuff up here by the end of the week.   Something fun to end the year.
