Melissa…Gone!
Well, my summer “I HAVE to watch” show is Hell’s Kitchen, which comes as no surprise to me. I’m addicted. I need help. “It’s a sickness, Buffy” … Okay, I digress.
The best part of last night’s episode was Melissa finally being sent home. Seriously, the female bitch side of me came out, stood up and cheered when she was finally kicked off her high horse. Last week she was given yet another chance by Chef Ramsay and was sent over to the Blue team. No more gender barriers.
For the first time EVER the Red team really had a consistently solid and good service. And how did that happen? Melissa wasn’t there. It was made disgustingly clear that she was not an asset to either team. I was pleased that the women finally got their act together and worked as a team and really blew Chef Ramsay away.
AND not to sound shallow…well, yeah, I’m being totally shallow about it, but that thing on Melissa’s chin was really starting to bother me! Get some acne cream, put on a little extra makeup and get your freakin’ hair out of the goddamned food! Everything about that woman irritated every fiber of my being. She was so bossy, and really didn’t know how to cook well. She would also get the tendency to get showoffy with Chef Ramsay. Finally he got annoyed…. She got more chances than anyone, and she kept failing, and no one else liked her. Literally, Melissa just crashed and burned and fell on her face.
With that said, I do think that Chef Ramsay was a little biased in making his winner/loser decision during the first half of that show, where lobsters and creativity were the key factors. Clearly, the Blue team should have won, purely on the creativity involved in making the modern lobster bisque. But, it was Melissa’s team, so I really think that Chef took that into consideration, which didn’t help the pressure that was on her.
Also, Rock is starting to get more dramatic. As we dive into crunch time, and get closer to the end, Rock gets angrier after each losing challenge. It was amusing watching him throw things around.
Have I mentioned today that I love this show?
