Single Stamina

YUP!  I was lucky enough to FINALLY catch the Wayne Brady episode of How I Met Your Mother.  It’s about time!

This episode was absolutely hilarious from beginning to end.  The whole idea was about the difference between having Single Stamina and being in a Couples Coma.  Barney’s brother James was supposed to be the awesomest of all awesome guys EVER!  But, little did Barney know that his brother was falling quickly into a couple’s coma.  The kicker?  He was texting!  A shocked and appalled Barney tries to dispell any ideas of marriage that his gay brother may have.  What ultimately convinces Barney that his brother getting married is a good idea is the fact that he’s going to be an uncle.  Classic Barney!  Loved it.  The face and the noise he made when James told him he was going to be an uncle was absolutely perfect.

This will go down as my one of my favorite episodes of HIMYM of all time.

Best lines of the episode:

“It’s been forever since I’ve been around anyone remotely fun. Yes, offense.”  -Barney

Old Ted: It got so bad Barney tried to be his own wingman.
CUT to the bar
Barney: Have you met me?

Robin: Bras suck. They’re so confining and unnatural.
Lily: Yeah, they’re like a boobie zoo

Marshall: Oh, poor me. I get to order yummy pink drinks with chunks of real fruit that guys secretly like but can’t order because they’ll be made fun of.
Ted: Dude
Marshall: They’re delicious!

Bloody Spoilers

I don’t know what it is, but everywhere I go people are talking about The Sopranos.  Typically, that’s really cool.  Except this time, everybody’s talking “spoilers.”  I wanted to remain spoiler-free and leave it up to the network to suprise me, rather than just assuming what’s going to happen.  Much like TV Dork over at MediaObsessed, I am a spoiler whore, but this time choose to not listen.

In my efforts to not listen, I’ve heard the following speculations: AJ will finally step up and be a man, only to die in the line of fire, and Tony realizes at the last minute that his son really was going to be the man he always wanted to be.  On the other end, Carmela is said to die in a really horrific way, leaving Tony to fend for himself.

No matter what happens, people must understand that the show is not about body count.  It’s about family.  Sure, the body count is a nice in between segue that connects the family sometimes, but that’s not all there is.  I’m a little concerned by the people who want to know who’s going to die next week.  Would the show really suck if no one was killed off next week?  I have a feeling that the show is going to end in such a way that no one can ever write about it again.  Meaning, Tony dies.  End of show.  End of Family.  But really, who knows.

For the next week, until the final episode airs, I’m choosing to not pay any attention to the spoilers.  I’m going to remain in a Sopranos-free bubble until Sunday night.  Wish me luck.
