Weirdness Abounds.

Angela calling Hodgins “Hodgy”?  Hodgins tampering with evidence and withholding info quintessential  for a murder case?  Booth not wearing colorful ties?  Brennan dating???

As far as weird things go, this was a weird episode.  I’ve never really seen Brennan interested in anyone in the relationship department when it didn’t involve her getting physically injured, assaulted, or being in an all-out bad sort of way.  The last guy she tried to date didn’t really work out…She cancelled on him to spend time with Booth in the hospital.

And Booth was being dodgy with Sully (Brennan’s new boyfriend), and Sully hit the nail on the head:  Booth wants Brennan.  He won’t admit it, espeically after the incident with the murder on the loose that leapt to his death after Booth dropped him.

Another bright spot is Booth’s therapist, Gordon Wyatt, who gave a pyschiatric evaluation for Booth to return to work and carry a gun, on the grounds that they still meet for “therapy sessions.”  I think they’re working.

But the weirdness keeps getting weirder, until the lawyer on the side of the Jeffersonian lays down the truth: “You guys are out of your minds…Get it together.”  Priceless.   For awhile all the squints have been acting outside the lines and making life more difficult for themselves.  They have to shape up or someone’s going to get hurt.

Top 24

Season 6 is under way!

American Idol just finished out its first round of Hollywood week, where the contestants were narrowed down to the top 24: 12 guys and 12 girls.  Boy, was that dramatic…

And to be perfectly honest, there were only a few that were actually memorable.  Most of the Top 24 I’ll never remember.  So here’s the list, complete with photos, bios, and other random useless info.

*~*The Memorable Ones:
~Chris Sligh- has an unexpectedly good singing voice. His first audition threw the judges, and he did great on group night during Hollywood week.
~Antonella Barba- she was the one with the best friend who made the first cut…and was a bitch. Group night went horrible for her and she forgot her words a few times. To be perfectly honest, I’m surprised she wasn’t cut.
~Sanjaya Malakar- the one with the sister who didn’t make it as far as he did. If they didn’t make a big deal for tv, I wouldn’t have remembered him. His voice is just ordinary.
~Sundance Head- Who could forget a name like “Sundance”???
~Melinda Doolittle- Backup singer or headliner? A big deal was made about her potentially not being able to take the spotlight, but so far, I think she’s done well. There was another backup singer who made it to the top 24, but I don’t remember his name…apparently not that memorable.
~Gina Glockson- She’s cute and a little different, and stood out for awhile. But I’m not sure I see her going all the way.

Well, that’s all I can remember making an impact…which isn’t many.  Can’t wait to watch next week.

…gonna do it right this time around?

I finally got the chance to watch Gilmore Girls  last night, mainly because it snowed so much, and for some bizarre reason, the plows just weren’t plowing.  And that is the precise reason I plan on leaving this god-awful New England weather and laughing all the way to sunny Cali.  Earthquakes and mudslides are a small price to pay for the luxury or no snow or shovelling…or driving a Mustang that has rear-wheel drive and simply cannot move when it snows, or rains, or sneezes out.  Ok, rant girl…

Anyway, I was a little surprised at the episode because it brought about quite a few things that I haven’t seen done on the show for a while.  Sookie returned to her rightful place as the “voice of reason,” which I love.  Who else is going to tell Lorelai what’s what and subtly point out the paifully obvious?  Not Michel.  He and Lorelai had a real fight for once, rather than the I’m-so-annoyed-with-you-go-away bickering they do.  Michel’s dog passed away, and he felt Lorelai was making light of the situation, when the fact was that she had other things to deal with.  I did love the fact that she really made the effort realizing that she was having issues and taking them out on Michel and anyone else really.

And as for Christopher, the man formerly known as Lorelai’s husband?  I think the marriage is over.  Simply, I loved the fact that they finally had a real conversation and hashed out some serious problems.  It was painful and heartbreaking, but Lorelai breaking down and crying had a certain cheese factor.  But they did face the facts: Lorelai is still in love with Luke, and no matter where they are in life, they will always be connected.  I think Christopher finally understands the situation, and really understanding what type of person he is and has been and that he forced Lorelai into something.  He said to her, “I should have known…It took you 20 years to say ‘yes’.”  He finally gets it.

Rory had an odd storyline this week.  It revolved around the TA that’s in for Richard for perhaps the rest of the semester, and the apparent crush she has on him.  I don’t understand why Rory went and told Logan about her getting blushy and red around this guy.  But the upside was that Logan was cool about it.  People think other people are attractive, and that’s okay.  What killed me was that Rory was probably freaking out because of the things Paris told her about Logan no longer being a wild man and now being boring.  Way too funny.

So, I did enjoy the episode, which I was a little shocked by.  But I wanted to like it and I’m glad it was good enough for me to sit through.
